The high usage of paper has a great impact to our forests; the same thing goes for printing. I believe that most people nowadays are having a better awareness on green living. Using the electronic media like email for our document or data transfer is highly recommended. However, there are times when paper becomes irreplaceable. Therefore, if we want to print a document, make sure that we are using the green printing method instead of the regular printing that can be very harmful for the environment.

When we are going to practice green printing, make sure to learn some terms like virgin fiber, post-consumer content, VOCs, PCF, TCF and ECF. Based on the research from The Recycled Products Cooperative, there are 100 million trees are cut just to supply our paper and ink needs. Not only will it affect the forest, but also the water and air quality. Therefore, one of the best ways to use green printing method is by using recycled paper. It will be so good if we chose papers with high post-consumer content level. Not only paper, but also we have to think about the ink. The petroleum-based ink is able to cause various diseases like cancer. Therefore, using soy ink is more recommended.
